Pakistan registered a glorious victory by defeating Afghanistan by 75 runs in the final of the UAE T20I Tri-Series 2025. Mohammad Nawaz trapped the Afghanistan batsmen in the web of his spin bowling. The Afghanistan batsmen had no answer to Nawaz’s bowling. Nawaz not only took a 5-fer but also registered a hat-trick to his name. Nawaz bowled a brilliant spell in which he took 5 wickets for 19 runs in his 4 overs and led his team to victory. Nawaz was awarded the Man of the Match for his match-winning performance, along with this, he was also awarded the Player of the Series for his good performance.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Pakistan’s start was not very good. Pakistan lost their first wicket on the third ball of the first over as FazalHaq Farooqi bowled Sahibzada Farhan. Due to the early fall of the first wicket, Pakistan’s start was slow. Pakistan scored only 19 runs in 4 overs at the loss of one wicket. Saim Ayub hit a four on the first ball of Nabi, who came to bowl the 5th over, and Fakhar Zaman hit a six on the last ball due to which Pakistan’s score in the power play was 41 runs at the loss of one wicket.

Noor Ahmad, who came to bowl the 8th over, dismissed Saim on the 5th ball, and Rashid Khan dismissed Fakhar in the very next over. Hasan Nawaz, who came to bat, tries to play positively and hits a four in the same over. In this way, Pakistan’s score at the halfway stage was 61 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. Hasan hit Rashid for a six on the very first ball of the 11th over, but Rashid got Hasan out on the 5th ball of the same over. Pakistan now needed a partnership, and Mohammad Nawaz and Pakistan captain Salman Agha sought to establish one. Nawaz hit Ghazanfar for a six on the leg side in the 15th over. Salman hit two sixes off Rashid who came to bowl his last over but Rashid got Salman out on the 5th ball of the over. Faheem Ashraf, who came to bat, hit Rashid for a four on his very first ball. In the 19th over, Faheem hit Ghazanfar for a six on the offside and was out on the next ball. In the last over, Nawaz hit FazalHaq for a six and then got out on the next ball. Pakistan scored 141 runs in 20 overs at the loss of 8 wickets.

Afghanistan, chasing a target of 142 runs, lost their first wicket in the very first over as Shaheen Afridi dismissed Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Sediqullah Atal hit a four to Saim Ayub in the 4th over and a four to Abrar Ahmed in the 5th over, but Abrar dismissed Atal on the very next ball after hitting the four. After this, Mohammad Nawaz’s amazing spin bowling magic started. Nawaz, who came to bowl the 6th over, dismissed Darwish Rasooli on the 5th ball and dismissed Azmatullah Omarzai on the very next ball. With this, Nawaz was now on a hat-trick. And in this way, Afghanistan’s score in the power play after this wicket was 29 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.

Nawaz then came to bowl the 8th over, who was on a hat-trick, and Nawaz dismissed Ibrahim Zadran on the very first ball and took a hat-trick. Then in the same over, Nawaz dismissed Karim on the 4th ball and due to which it became his double-wicket maiden over. Rashid Khan, who came to bat, hit a six to Nawaz in the 10th over. Abrar dismissed Mohammad Nabi in the 11th over. Rashid again hit a six to Nawaz, who came to bowl his last over, but Nawaz dismissed Rashid on the very next ball and took a 5-fer. Then Sufiyan Muqeem dismissed Noor Ahmad in the 14th over and AM Ghazanfar in the 16th over, in this way, the Afghanistan team was all out on just 66 runs.

Pakistan not only won the match but also won the final of the UAE T20I Tri-Series 2025 by defeating Afghanistan by 75 runs. Pakistan and Afghanistan will now be seen playing in the Asia Cup, which is going to start from 9th September 2025.
