UAE bowlers did not appear to be in good rhythm at all, due to which UAE had to face a big target. From the UAE’s side, Muhammad Rohid Khan took 2 wickets for 34 runs in his 4 overs, while Saghir Khan took 2 wickets for 52 runs. Saghir Khan proved to be very expensive, conceding runs at an economy of 13. And at the halfway stage, the UAE’s score was 91 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. At that time it seemed that UAE might come close to winning this match, but then the magic of Rashid Khan and Sharafuddin Ashraf’s spin bowling began.
Rashid Khan bowled out Asif Khan in 11th over, who had played an aggressive innings against Pakistan. And then he dismissed Dhruv Parashar on the last ball of the 15th over. And with this wicket, Rashid Khan becomes the highest wicket taker in T20Is. Sharafuddin Ashraf dismissed Saghir Khan in the 16th over, due to which UAE now had to score 75 runs in 4 overs, which was very difficult to achieve. In the end Rahul Chopra showed a good fight and played a good inning. Rahul Chopra scored 52 runs in 35 balls, which includes 3 sixes and 3 fours. But still he fails to make his team win.
With this, Afghanistan beat UAE by 38 runs and got 2 valuable points.
